Hanging Out with the Locals

Coming to the US was the third time I moved to live in a different country. The beginning is always complicated as you don't know how things work, and bureaucracy does not make things better. It is actually most of the times the source of the confusion.

I also get a weird feeling of not knowing if I am a tourist or a 'local'. Because you work and have a 'normal' life, whatever that is, but at the same time you feel like a tourist because you really want to explore the cite. This feeling goes away after the first couple of months, and one of the main reasons for not feeling as a tourist anymore is that you have to take care of day-to-day life, work and make the dishes, and most importantly, you have not visited most of the tourist attractions in the city.

Not even Alcatraz.

Today for example, we went to Golden Gate Park. If I am not mistaken, it was the second time since coming to San Francisco, if you don't count the endless times we have gone to the California Academy of Sciences that is, and the visit to the Outside Lands Music Festival last year.

It was great though to just 'hang out', make a picnic, run around in the grass with no shoes on and knowing that you don't have to do much more than this.

No stress to see other things, because we are locals.
