A common question you get in the US is; 'what car do you drive'? Not 'if' you have a car, but which one you have. Some things are taken for granted in the land of the car. The answer to that question is therefore easy; if I had one, it would be a 1968 Ford Mustang, but as I don't have a car, the answer is; 'I don't have a car'.
This does not mean that I don't drive. In true San Francisco spirit; we buy organic food at Trader Joe's, second hand records at Amoeba Records, and drive a car with the car sharing company Zipcar. This is a wonderful idea where you rent a car by the hour instead of by the day, meaning we can get a car for an hour and a half to go grocery shopping (at Trader's Joe of course), for four hours to go to the beach, or for 28 hours if we need to take a run for the Mexican boarder.
Miss Cupcake? She loves cars. Something about the way the air runs through the hair on the open highway...
